What is that smell???????????????????

Yesterday, Rhonda and I had our 14 year olds playing baseball in Blue Valley and our 12 year olds playing baseball in Lee's Summit and both of our girls coming off of sleepovers.  Needless to say, we had done some divvying up between kids and dads and somehow, Rhonda ended up with our oldest boys, Logan and Adam.  She had taken them to Culver's for some between game nourishment and was driving back to the ball park.  It had luckily warmed up enough that the boys could start shedding layers.  During this shedding process a horrible odor had crept into the Caddy.  To put in Rhonda's terms, it smelled like a$$....   She pulled into the parking lot at the same time as me and I walked up to her car.  As any special friend would do, she held up Adam's shirt for me to smell and to put in my minivan!  WooWeee!  As I swallowed down the vomit she went back to get something out of her car.  I quickly threw the shirt back into her trunk and shut it.  There was NO WAY that shirt was going into my open air minivan!

After the game as we were walking to the car I told Rhonda about the naughty thing I had done, leaving the stinky shirt in her trunk.  I should have kept my mouth shut because as we were getting ready to back out of our parking spot, sneaky Logan came up and threw the shirt into our open window.  Adam, as always oblivious to his own stench, waved it around in the van.  I succeeded in grabbing it and throwing it out the window and into a puddle beside the van.  I know I shouldn't litter but I did not think anyone would touch that shirt!!  We drove away never to see that stinky shirt again.....

Or so we thought!  As we're driving home, our friend Colleen called me and said "I think I did something silly."  She had been parked next to me and saw the shirt and picked it up to give to us, surely we didn't mean to leave an underarmour shirt in a puddle.  She started to throw the shirt in her jeep but then got a whiff and went and put it in her husband's made car trunk, she didn't want that thing in her car.  Driving off she realized, maybe we didn't want to save that shirt....

Morals to this story....  1) make sure you drive a vehicle with a trunk to games where kids sweat and 2) try to take the kids who have only been watching the games, give the stinky ones to your friend.

  1. I guess some smells are so strong, you can't get rid of them no matter how much you try ;) Is it still in that guy's trunk?

I hate to be a pain, but is there some "open" setting for your comments where we can type in whatever we'd like when we leave a comment?
